Celtics Host Rockets
SG James Harden of the Houston Rockets and PG Isaiah Thomas of the Boston Celtics have been two of the top guards in the NBA this season. The two meet for the second time this season on Wednesday, this time in Boston.
Harden entered the week leading the league in assists and sitting in third place for scoring. He was named a starter in the upcoming All-Star Game. Harden also powers an offense that’s second in the league in scoring only to Golden State. The Rockets haven’t scored less than 100 points since November 21.
Thomas didn’t get voted into the All-Star Game as a starter, but there’s an excellent chance that he’ll get in as a reserve. He’s second in the league in scoring and he’s been extremely reliable in crunch time situations. He leads the NBA in fourth quarter scoring.
The Rockets are 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS in their last five meetings with the Celtics, including a 107-106 win at home on December 5. Harden had 37 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and he hit all 18 of his free-throw attempts. Thomas had 20 points for the Celtics.
